Repel Garden Pests Naturally

Summer is here, and you may have been inspired to get creative in your garden. But what about those pesky insects that love to eat your precious flowers? You could use traditional insecticides, but you don’t want to hurt the friendly mini-beasts such as bees, ladybirds and butterflies, so why not try making your own essential oil sprays to keep the flies, fleas, mosquitos, aphids, squash bugs, ticks, ants, and cockroaches at bay?

Anti-Insect Spray

Mix equal parts of rosemary, peppermint, thyme and clove essential oils in a spray bottle filled with water. Shake well before each use, and apply to areas of your garden where you want to get rid of insect pests.

Defeat Slugs and Snails Spray

Mix a teaspoon of cedarwood, hyssop and pine essential oils in a spray bottle filled with water. Apply in a ring around plants that snails and slugs love to nibble. Refresh as needed.

Have fun gardening, and remember to plant lots of bee friendly flowers such as lavender, buttercups, asters, anemones, crocuses and sunflowers.
